To name another mastodon instance, I'd personally love to see kolektiva.social added. It's the biggest anti-colonial/anarchist mastodon instance sitting at 36k users and for many leftists like me it was sort of the default landing page during the very first twitter exodus. Lemmygrad federated with them as well fwiw.

Looks like images from lemmy.blahaj.zone show up as *removed externally hosted image* (see https://hexbear.net/post/306609). Can we get that domain whitelisted for images like lemmy.ml and lemmygrad.ml are?

undernopretext.social is a Mastodon instance for leftist firearms enthusiasts run by seahorse, the admin of midwest.social.

lemmy.blahaj.zone is a general purpose lemmy instance for queer and gender diverse folk, and their allies. They like our pronouns feature, and they have disabled downvotes like Hexbear has.

https://lemy.lol is a small (43 users a day) Lemmy instance that federates with Hexbear and Lemmygrad and blocks Threads. Their admin seems open to learning more about gender, and they have built off of @[email protected]'s lemmy-bot.

Let's break into the kbinverse.

  • kbin.social: flagship general purpose instance, about 20k active users. Typical lib stuff.

  • fedia.io: Second largest, general purpose, run by the admins of infosec.exchange Masto instance.

pawb.social yiffit.net - furries

Reason: The internet is a greyer, duller place without them.

lemmy.sdfeu.org is from the same crowd that runs lemmy.sdf.org (just from another CDN). The latter is federated but not the first.

Any chance of linking them? They have a no defederation policy, but I can't see your posts from my main instance.

whiskers.bim.boats - Disclaimer: I made a Hexbear account here just for this. We really like Hexbear and anonymously lurk everyday since we already run our own tiny instance with 2 active users and don't want the hassle of multiple accounts...So the comms available are basically what we look at and like (bar some lib places we subbed to for dialectical purposes). Whiskers is defederated from threads if that matters but none of us subscribe to comms on other sus/fash instances anyway. Although if there is a short list of instances with that kinda stuff we can add them too.

TL; DR: Just a few ML folks looking for some fedi left-unity.

toast.ooo - running a pixel art canvas for fediverse this weekend (like a Lemmy r/place)

There’s a trans flag already going and stuff, could add a dope-ass bear.

feddit.de is a German-speaking alternative, independent and self-managed space for free exchange of views, beyond the control of large tech companies. They have upgraded to Lemmy v0.19.0, meaning that their users can decide for themselves which instances to block, in the marketplace of ideas.

szmer.info is the largest Polish Lemmy instance at 28 daily users, and it federates with Hexbear.

Their 7 most active communities:

Some akkoma instances to federate with:

snowdin.town: leftist, queer, antifascist, explicitly anti-loli/pedo/etc; actively blocks all the kind of shit we're concerned about

Outerheaven.club: Metal Gear, blocks the bad stuff

mycrowd.ca: general purpose, very anti,fascist/bigotry/pedo, blocks the bad stuff

akkow.wtf: general purpose shitposting, blocks the bad stuff

seafoam.space: general purpose chill site, blocks the bad stuff

Akkoma is Twitter/Mastodon/Pleroma style and so far most seems to have attracted very cool and active communities

lemmy.VG is an anarchist, vegan-only Lemmy server existing to provide the vegan community safe access to the Fediverse, and they federate with Hexbear and Lemmygrad. It hosts https://lemmy.vg/c/vegancirclejerk, which has 231 daily users.

Hey, is there a good reason we don’t federate with https://slrpnk.net/ ? I just ask because it’s an anarchist environmentalist instance with no porn and no bigotry (that I’ve seen). I haven’t spent much time analysing it but from first impressions it looks to be both fairly active and feels like it may have users who would be more or less aligned with hexbear even if they are federated with some worse instances.

preserve.games seems like a nice hobby instance to federate with.
