What emulators support local multiplayer? Can I just connect generic third party controllers to make it a mini home console? I have some switch compatible third party controllers, any drivers I can use to make switch controllers work?

Lemuroid has support for external keyboards/gamepads, so has RetroArch. I don't know about Switch controllers in particular
