Hey all,

I’ve got an exciting thing to announce today, Canvas — Lemmy’s r/Place!

We need to get our own traditions over here in the Threadiverse, why not start off with our own r/Place

This weekend, we will open up a canvas to all Lemmy users, each user will be able to place 1 pixel every minute. This event will last 72 hours, starting midnight EST on the 4th and ending at 11:59pm EST on the 6th

Would users authenticate through lemmy? Any chance you could stand up a sandbox/staging canvas ahead of time to test that out? Or is it just a totally separate authentication?

The plan for this is having a bot account send a code to your Lemmy account to verify your identity

So no need for multiple accounts 🎉

so will it be on an extra website?
And would it be possible that users from other fediverse platforms like mastodon could participate?

It will be run on a separate website

As of right now only Lemmy accounts can login, but other fediverse platforms may have the possibility to be added 👀
