Depends on the amount of hyperbole, and getting banned for "believing in the concept of copyright" definitely smells like hyperbole.

Without knowing the context of those bans, it's kinda hard to say whether your take of them being "simply for believing in the concept of copyright" is actually anywhere close to reality or not.

Based on past experience of people posting hyperbolic claims about "instance X banning people for Y", it's never actually about Y.

Shh, calling genocidal right wing extremists "nazis" makes the genocidal right wing extremists (ie. nazis) angry

Jewish community voices concern: 'Canada is becoming more hostile toward us by the day'

What kind of a shitty excuse for a human thinks war crime investigations are "hostility"?

Well there's obviously psychotic, and then there's obviously psychotic

Certainly fair enough, but this really hasn't been a problem with just Blue Labour – see eg. "Restoring control over the immigration system"

edit: oh and how could I forget Starmer's position on trans women: Starmer does not believe trans women are women, No 10 says

Yeah my main worry is that people are so unbelievably obsequious towards billionaires and reich-wing "leaders" that even an obviously psychotic one might not get them to pause and think about what the hell they're doing

Labour trying not to emulate fascists in the hopes of votes challenge: impossible

But doing anything about it now might hurt shareholder profits in the next few quarters, so let's just wait until things get even worse – then we can start murdering scapegoats and pray for our neofeudalist techbro overlords to save us

A lot of media – globally – are owned by reich-wingers, and they certainly don't want anyone seeing their dirty laundry

[-] [email protected] 11 points 2 days ago

Exactly. With the Trump regime in power, nobody in their right mind should trust the US with any sort of information "pre-hoc" (and probably not post-hoc either…) – especially if it's something that Russia would be interested in

feel like hangovers from an old mediaeval version of the language.

This is pure conjecture on my part, but I think that might be the explanation.

Also like @[email protected] alluded to, English really isn't one language, but more like 4(+) languages in a trench coat pretending to be one. Lots of weird shit that really doesn't make much sense unless viewed from a perspective of language development & history
