Ah you know, not the outcome I hoped for but it's exactly what I expected from humans.

paraphrasing a little more than a half hour of the video: “Man, fuck Thor/Pirate Software for either lying or misunderstanding and signal boosting his incorrect interpretation of the campaign.”

I agreed with Ross previously that Thor taking a really dumb fuck position helped get more attention on the issue that was, IMO, as hopeless as trying to get the masses to care about or understand Net Neutrality. That was what I saw repeated and upvoted at the time even before Thor revealed himself to be a gigantic narcissistic nepo baby bullshitter more recently.

If you watched the vid OP, what changed his opinion? I'll check it out once I'm home from work regardless.

"This update is notable for having a high number of improvements to game performance and compatibility. Please read the change notes.

Additionally, for x86_64 devices (most desktop computers), this update requires a CPU which has SSE4.2 instructions, and it is likely that all future releases will also have this requirement. This feature is available in all modern CPUs released in 2011 or later. The few users who have hardware which doesn't support this instruction set can compile the emulator from source with the ENABLE_SSE42 CMake option disabled."

"Welcome back, ROM readers! Or maybe you should be welcoming me back? How does this work when I took an extra week off due to the flurry of gaming news last weekend? Maybe we each bust out a "nice to see you again" and get down to business.

This week's main focus is a bit different than usual — a personal reaction to a story I saw more than a week ago that'd been eating at me ever since. There's been a good bit of emulation news since last issue, but this felt like a more important topic to me than an extremely questionable PS3 Android emulator that somehow made its way onto the Play store (maybe I'll revisit this one next issue)."

Going online with flash carts on a new console is certainly a choice. The first Switch already hardware banned for doing that, so this isn't new.

I'm absolutely not a pro at this. Post your plants!

OP pic is Chinese rhubarb to maybe replace my old plant, russet potatoes that were sprouting on the counter, wild strawberries native to AB I often see in our river valley, asparagus (cut down once already), chives. Further back box is next week's problem.

Everything under the evergreens (out of frame directly behind the fence) suffers and this old planter the old owners put in is rotting, so last year for this struggling stuff except the Honeyberry bush which I need to move anyways. It's big enough to survive in the lawn now. Rhubarb, saskatoons, raspberries don't do well in here. I'll salvage what I can. Smashy'n clover next year. Then new half buried kiddie pools with the bottoms cut out "planters" elsewhere away from those trees is the plan. Classy! I'll do neon green with the dinosaur pattern.

New cherry tree because my old one is about at the end of its expected lifespan and it's showing. I'll pretty up its space if it survives the winter.

Same deal here, but these are an experiment to see if these "CANADIAN HARDY -TAYLOR" Paw Paw (Michigan Banana is another name) trees from Quebec's Green Barn Nursery can really survive zone 3b. They'll get the burlap sacks over winter. Has anyone eaten these fruits before on Lemmy? Curious. Nobody has heard of them locally here I've talked to so far. https://www.greenbarnnursery.ca/products/paw-paw-taylor

The row will hopefully be purple and orange goth-ish Sunflowers. Or "Chocolate" I guess.

The grass mostly died beside the pine tree, so I'm trying clover. It uh, yeah it's thriving. I'll dig out more of the damned grass later. Very good result it'll be lower maintenance now.

I think you'd be an asshole for accepting an invite to visit with someone you clearly don't care about anymore who also now has infant/children who you don't want to see.

In the few years since we spoke she’s had two babies by two different guys.

Flavor text, or judgemental? If you disapprove of her life choices possibly quite strongly, then yes please don't bother this woman.

Anyways, you won't an asshole if you just let that already dead friendship stay dead. I dislike children enough to seek out sterilization, so I get it.

Seek out like-minded friends instead and you'll be all good.

I can only keep up the charade around my niece and nephew for our bi-monthly supper visits. I'm a good uncle for ~6-12 hours a month lol that's my limit.

Bots write the articles, bots post the articles, bots respond to the articles, bots argue with other bots, bots repost bot reactions to bot articles. Bots scrape the internet made up of bots making content for other bots to train itself to act like...uh oh. Uh oh.

Who cares though, did line go up this quarter?

I never fell for mp3.exe, but I did install Real Player and use the built in browser once.

I learned how to remove a Trojan virus that copy pastes itself into a few directories before mom got home from work at 9 years old.

People wonder why I know so much about computers, a large part was fucking up the expensive family PC repeatedly.

That's how targeted advertising works yes. Not much of a reveal there?

I guess people need the obvious pointed out, and yeah fair enough.

Before I get dogpiled: I'm not defending them. I'm saying it's sad people actually think or thought the bar was higher than this. You can tell me Google, Xhitter, whatever did the same and I'd say the same thing. You're the product. You. Are. The. Product.

Itch doesn't appear interested in suing unfortunately. I want them to, not because I'm bloodthirsty, but to set precedent that this wreckless use of AI content moderation isn't OK. I can imagine Disney and Nintendo following this.

What's more depressing than American healthcare?

Canadian conservatives replacing theirs with the American system without a fight.
