This is why NASA should never have outsourced its rocket programme.

What!?? Being reliant on a petulant manchild isn't a good long term strategy??? Who would have guessed?

What would the alternative for transport to and from the ISS have been? Keep flying the Space Shuttle for two more decades? Ares I + Orion? SLS + Orion? Rely on Soyuz indefinitely?

Falcon 9 + Dragon are one of the best returns on investment NASA have gotten recently.

Considering the head of the Russian space programme threatened to yeet the ISS at Ukraine, relying on Soyuz might not be any more sane than this.

or maybe the government should have purchased the capsule outright instead of on a contract.

And this is why you shouldn't outsource your space industry to a petulant manchild nazi-lover.

They did choose an alternative as well, and they chose... Boeing Starliner.

I do wonder what how things would have played out if Dream Chaser had gotten funded instead of Starliner.

Pointing out that doing what Trump wants would leave the US reliant on the Russians to reach the ISS is definitely a win for The Musk.

Crew Dragon and Falcon are both brilliant pieces of kit, it's a shame who owns them.
