Oh it's not just Republicans, any bootlickers suffice! Or people who just don't follow politics the way many others do.

Only reason I didn't go Nothing, was no IR Blaster. Now I realize it didn't matter cuz FOSS support for it sucks lol. Spoiled with my other built in stuff

The best time is now to take up communal gardening and hold mini farmer's markets in neighborhoods, etc. Several of us on our street each have started gardens. More join each year as other neighbors see progress!

Well, tbh, they just use an email as a username a lot of times. As long as you note the old email address and password for an acct you should be good. Another option: Forward those emails with keys and other important info to a new address, or better yet, archive those all to a .PST (if you have Outlook for example) so they're available offline.

Last but not least, stop using that old email, switch all important stuff over and leave the old dormant. I DO recommend a strong password update and possible MFA since you'll seldom access it. But then you can disregard the old account and it exist for historical purposes.

What protest? Apparently I live under a rock, didn't see anything about it.

I think too many people are too self conscious to join a protest. I think they're (protests) belittled too much to feel impactful, and a lot of that lies in the division falsely created by the media.

Can't you opt you have forgot password or forgot email, then when it goes to validate you chose I don't have access to this account?

I've changed some email this way

OK, for context, none of us have Graphene, Lineage, Murena, etc compatible phones. However, at work, we use an MDM that let's me manage Apple and Google devices result. I see they offer a free tier for <25 devices (I would be under that limit for desktops, laptops, and mobiles) and I know they can deploy apps without a Google account. So maybe that's the trick! Deploy my kids phones with someone I can easily track, where they can't disable location, can't install social media apps, and no need for A Google account.

I understand a Google account is needed for the MDM, but I would make up a bogus one, lock down app permissions quite well, etc. Have a kid profile and a grown up profile for when devices are registered. Seems like it'd be a rather simple thing overall that gives way more control than Google family does.

Anyone else run something like this? This would be Endpoint Central. I know they're India based, but to me that's a bonus as it's not US tech either!

Edit: oh yeah and should help to bypass age verification limits too since it'll be "corporate owned"

Are there any alternative app stores that do list them? I might just go to apkpure to side load, but it's annoying these often-recommended browsers aren't available there.

Alternatively, are there any browsers preexisting in F-Droid any of you recommend?

Just got a phone and just installed lineage OS.

Edit: FOUND IT in case anyone is looking https://github.com/BrowserWorks/waterfox-android/releases list of APKs here

A friend of mine shared this link regarding Flock cameras being removed from Illinois. They're a 2-party consent state regarding audio recordings. I figure it's worth sharing here since I don't have other accts

Playing around with a new self-host NAS OS, finally thought about Tailscale. But, I see it wants a login to an account. Checking online, seems I have to use Google, Apple, MS, Github or OIDC (which iassume costs money based on the site).

So how tf y'all setting to your tail scale stuff? I'm not using a big brother us tech account for auth on this thing. Think I'd rather go back to regular wireguard if that's the case.

Edit: OK I see you can use regular email. It didn't load the webpage correctly the first time or I missed it. Odd. Anyway, I do don't want an account add I don't want to risk any data compromise at some point

Anyone else just sick of trying to follow guides that cover 95% of the process, or maybe slightly miss a step and then spend hours troubleshooting setups just to get it to work?

I think I just have too much going in my "lab" the point that when something breaks (and my wife and/or kids complain) it's more of a hassle to try and remember how to fix or troubleshoot stuff. I lightly document myself cuz I feel like I can remember well enough. But then it's a style to find the time to fix, or stuff is tested and 80%completed but never fully used because life is busy and I don't have loads of free time to pour into this stuff anymore. I hate giving all that data to big tech, but I also hate trying to manage 15 different containers or VMs, or other services. Some stuff is fine/easy or requires little effort, but others just don't seem worth it.

I miss GUIs with stuff where I could fumble through settings to fix it as is easier for me to look through all that vs read a bunch of commands.

Idk, do you get lab burnout? Maybe cuz I do IT for work too it just feels like it's never ending...
