You can try: https://farsnews.ir/showcase?lang=en

It's getting hammered though. Could be both intentional DDoS, or just a consequence of all global media journalists trying to access the site

The book is much longer. Search the web for it, "Che Guevara guerilla warfare book PDF"

It's quite admirable that Georges Abdallah has kept his revolutionary optimism intact, while being jailed for so many years.

A great interview. Includes both English and Arabic subtitles, but the interview itself is in French.

Thanks for the link to the discussion comrade, I hadn't even noticed. I guess that's a lesson for listening more closely!

Channel popped up in my feed. Interviewer is not a communist (according to himself), but the entire interview seems to be done in good faith and from an academic angle. Quite interesting.

What makes it better?

For what it's worth, the developers of Lemmy are leftists/MLs, which I personally appreciate. Not very common in my experience to have openly socialist developers on popular FOSS.

Unrelated, but I find it weird that DeepSeek refuses to tell me about Socialism with Chinese Characteristics. It will auto-delete / block the message it's trying to reply with. Does this also happen for you? Like "Can you explain Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for me?".

Don't know much about Nepal, but the video seemed interesting :)

Another lovely video by DPRK Explained, about the Rason Special Economic Zone :)

Another lovely video by "DPRK Explained".

As a sort of "bonus info" in the video, he tells that the DPRK is about to ease up their restrictions of foreign travelers visiting.

A great video from a great channel

Exactly the same with me :)

Hello comrades 🫡

I urge you all to watch the entire documentary that Al Jazeera just put out.

An obvious warning for absolutely despicable and horrific video material. But it's very well put together, with experts commenting on a lot of video clips put out by IOF soldiers on social media, with the focus of what exactly makes it alleged war crimes or clear cut war crimes.

Truly abhorrent footage, not exactly a documentary that sparks joy.

Rest in peace, comrade Nguyen Phu Trong!

NYTimes is already out there wishing for a "less conservative communist leader":

Mr. Trong represented a conservative Marxist-Leninist faction within the party, which includes another faction seen as more pragmatic and moderate. His death is likely to raise hopes in the West that a less doctrinaire leader could emerge. Mr. Trong, the only one in the 18-member Politburo who grew up during the Vietnam War, was a generation older than many of his peers.

In Denmark the conflict in Russia/Ukraine has resulted in accepting American troops being stationed here, and of course a massive $20 billion USD investment in the military, over the next 10 years. The articles are in Danish, use a translator if you're interested.

Denmark has for at least 70 years always said no to having American troops stationed in our country, so it's quite a big move. Very few political parties have been criticizing it this time around, except for the most left-wing ones (obviously including our very-small communist party).

Currently reading Inventing Reality: The Politics of News Media by Parenti :). A great book, but also somewhat depressing. Even though it's quite old, it definitely still holds up. It kind of seems like nothing has changed.

You can read something China's permanent representative to the United Nations, Zhang Jun, said here.

Basically saying to show restraint, to limit civilian casualties. And that the UN should push for a two-state solution.

Otherwise, you can follow the CPC's official news paper, People's Daily, and their "World" publishing here

And in general, Xinhua, the largest media organ in China: here. Also this and this.

I use the NewPipe fork with Sponsorblock as an optional feature. You can get NewPipe on F-Droid here and the fork with Sponsorblock here.

As a rule of thumb, I always check their respective GitHub pages for links, I don't really trust the Google Store. There are too many spam duplicates of various apps, especially FOSS ones.

It's an amazing documentary. But also quite horrifying. It's quite disturbing having them describe and depict how they killed all those innocent civilians, who they suspected to be communists or left-leaning. It's definitely worth a watch.
