Valkey, a high-performance key/value datastore, will be replacing redis in the [extra] repository. This change is due to Redis modifying its license from BSD-3-Clause to RSALv2 and SSPLv1 on March 20th, 2024.

Arch Linux Package Maintainers intend to support the availability of the redis package for roughly 14 days from the day of this post, to enable a smooth transition to valkey. After the 14 day transition period has ended, the redis package will be moved to the AUR. Also, from this point forward, the redis package will not receive any additional updates and should be considered deprecated until it is removed.

Users are recommended to begin transitioning their use of Redis to Valkey as soon as possible to avoid possible complications after the 14 day transition window closes.

MegaMan X: Corrupted is an unofficial, fan-made game in development by JKB Games. Beginning in 2007, it gradually grew from a coding exercise into a serious project that attracted a team of fans contributing their various talents. Today the game runs on a custom-made engine in Haxe with all original assets and music, and development is streamed occasionally on Twitch. The game has no estimated release date, but will be available for free once completed.

MAZANOKE is a simple image compressor and converter that runs entirely in your browser. No external uploads, works offline as a web app, and is powered by the "Browser Image Compression" library.

Github project page: https://github.com/civilblur/mazanoke

Features

  • 🚀 Compress & Convert Images Instantly In Your Browser
    • Adjust image quality (0-100%).
    • Set a target file size.
    • Set max dimensions, to not exceed a certain width/height.
    • Convert between JPG, PNG, and WebP.
  • 🌍 Installable Web App
    • Use as a Progressive Web App (PWA).
    • Dark and light mode.
    • Fully responsive for desktop, tablet, and mobile.
  • 🔒 Privacy-Focused
    • Works offline.
    • All image processing happens locally.
    • No data is uploaded to external servers. Your files stay on your device.

Use case

This app is designed to compress smaller batches of images, aimed at casual users who need to compress and convert a few images at a time.

I created it primarily for friends and family who are less tech-savvy, to help them compress and convert images in a simple, safe, and private way.

Since the compression is handled in the browser, it won't cause any additional load on your server.

Additional notes

  • I wanted it to be low-dependency, so it's built using pure HTML/CSS/JS.
  • If you're wondering about the excessive amount of animations used, it's simply because I wanted to have fun working on this project. These types of animations are usually impractical for general purpose websites and are impractical to maintain.

I'm not a Tumblr fan, but I was told that Wafrn can be a good fediverse replacement for it

I'm using Librewolf (a Firefox fork) and have the same issue.

Just check Firefox messaging folder exists in your home

 ls -l ~/.mozilla/native-messaging-hosts

In my case, I needed to create a symlink to make it work with my browser

ln -s ~/.mozilla/native-messaging-hosts ~/.librewolf/native-messaging-hosts

Maybe you could apply a similar workaround. Hope this helps

Great! I can't wait some assholes telling that this is progress and if you don't like it go fuck yourself

For me is Final Fantasy IX. You can think the story is quite naive at the first gameplay, but on later replays I noticed that some characters have a deepest plot than I though the first time. I cannot tell much more without spoilers

You assumed well. I'm in a Firefish instance and the most content I can see from there comes from Mastodon users from other instances.

Don't missunderstand me. I think that is pretty cool because you can interact with both Mastodon and Firefish users using any of the two applications, but at least in case of my Firefish instance, most of the additional features of Firefish are underutilized.

That has much more sense that I though

Hi! After more than 6 years using Ansible I have not found a way to print the standard output of a program running under the command module, so I'm afraid the only way to achieve this is exactly what you suggest: using a debug task, something that has always seemed terribly ugly to me.
