And you can get 1F capacitors in bulk from China for a few dozen dollars each.

Those things are still dangerous and scary. The 1T magnet way more so than the capacitor.

No one can cut off the US oil supply.

Well, if the US invests on being able to use its own oil without mixing with anything else, the can become true.

Not to mention they could simply seize oil haulers for themselves with their navy.

A few times, yeah. The world won't react well to the US specializing into constant piracy.

Hum... I'd put good odds in they getting some now.

Some of the world is improving. Some has been regressing. The last 30 years weren't a very stable time, and even the accounts of what is happening is not reliable. Not acknowledging that has been incredibly harmful for everybody.

Anyway, yes, improve your life and the society around you. It's what you can do.

In Civilization, if you take a city from some player and offer peace, they almost always agree.

Are you saying international diplomacy isn't like a 90s video game?

I imagine the flat-earthers wouldn't accept that shape as "flat".

How many more of these stories need to come out before us around the rest of the world stop treating the United States like a democracy?

What do you mean by "treating like a democracy"? What countries have you seen treating the US in high regards recently? Or, what do you want to change?

Being able to know things was good though. I hope scientific articles last a while longer.

I can either go to the groceries after some specific items, when I'll run erratically through every aisle until I find them all, or to "do groceries", when I'll run methodically through every isle browsing each product and deciding if I want it or not.

Well... If Kafka wrote it today, this could as well be the story.

At least he'll get the chance to text his parents before he shows up on the kitchen.

Some declarations terminate on the name, other declarations go one requiring more tokens. In C, the only thing that differentiates them is the type.

Parenthesis in particular are completely ambiguous. But asterisks and square brackets also create problems.

Good, now invent a keyword for variables you don't want to declare the type. And now that you have a mix of keywords and identifiers on the same place, you can never update your language again.

Also, make the function declarations not use a keyword too, so you get the full C-style madness of code that changes meaning depending on what libraries you import.

As a developer that learned it once, a long time ago, naturally I sign to the pledge...

I have some doubts if I should mark it NSFW.

All those student protests on the US seem to be about stopping their universities from supporting the Israel government. But supporting a foreign government is not a normal thing for a university to do, why do they do it?

Is there some educational or research resource they get?

The links like [email protected].

I have had a pretty bad time making those work. I have tried searching for them at the communities page, and removing the exclamation mark and pasting them on my instance (lemmy.world/c/[email protected]).

Some times one of those works, other times my instance finds nothing. And if I go directly to the home instance of the community, it doesn't bring my login.

What is the recommended way to use those?
