Modern Teutonic thrash today. Standard stuff - kicks ass but you know what to expect. This one makes liberal use of backing shouts frequently during vocal delivery.

Second upload today cuz I felt like it! Melodeath band just happened to play a thrash track right in the latter half of their weakest (imo) album. But this track ain't that bad, just a tad short. Probably better off with a recommendation to check out the track Nemesis from the next album Doomsday Machine. Anyways lol I always love sharing stuff with you guys on the very edges of our extreme subgenres.

This upload is attributed to @[email protected], thanks for the recommendation my dude! Today's pick is my fav from their latest album. Love these relentless blasts and wails lol.

What an incredibly chaotic good time this band is. Feels more genuine in its approach to extreme music as well, in their death-sprinkled black/thrash style. This is definitely one to watch for the future!

First real track after the intro to this Greek band's third and arguably best album. Excellent song writing and killer riffs have me coming back to this one in the ol' playlist again and again. Not exactly number 1 or anywhere near top 5 of the second wave, this band still deserves a chance.

Oooh thanks for the heads up. I was wondering why we haven't seen anything from them yet, despite how long they've been around.

Also that kinda explains track #3 on this album - "what happened to this country?" in the lyrics and such.. hmm.

[-] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago

I dont think that's an unpopular opinion. I like Metallica mostly because I grew up with it and some of the music has sentimental value with family. Objectively I can see why a LOT of people dislike em tho - there will never be a metal band as big as them ever in the future and they for damn sure saw to that, between the whole Napster thing and the anti piracy stance. Plus they're a bunch of whiny bitches sometimes lol.

One of the best solos in thrash, from #thebestalbumofalltime. Anyone else wanna share their top solos of thrash?

Australian black/thrash band formed in 1994, though today's pick is more like a traditional thrash song. ~~I haven't check it out yet but reviews suggest they have better offerings previously, so I'll definitely give em a check!~~ Edit: nope lmao I ain't touching this one. My mistake for not consulting that one list first.

At first when I heard this, I nearly balked at it lol but I've been spinning it here and there and it's kinda growing on me. Not exactly what I remember Kreator for but it's fine I suppose!

Hah, too groovy for you? Or was it another element?

Modern heavy metal from California. Speed metal song is the 4th track this time instead of the opener, so we're veering into uncharted territories lmao. Great tune overall tho, definitely on the shorter side.

Yep, I totally see that. Not my preferred voice either. But the guitars and the production are a bit better ;D

I couldn't get past the vocals and production. The song itself is great and I did find a cover by some really obscure metal band from Oregon. But that's it.

[-] [email protected] 1 points 5 days ago

Not really a fan of this one, wonder if there's a cover of it somewhere.. xD

Modern retro thrash with a speed metal feel from Canada makes this band. Today's pick is heavily inspired by Iron Maiden with its melodies and drumming, but it's still thrash! I'm still getting used to the voice as it's just unique enough but idk, there's some multi-layering that I feel doesn't belong.

EDIT: fixed the Tidal link, sorry about the fuckup!

I remember a while back in like 08 or something, I discovered Enforcer when they released only their debut album, but I was addicted to the sound, and saw that metal archives recommended Skull Fist as a close similar artist, so i checked em out. Their debut was fun but a lil too cheesy for me, so I kinda wrote em off and life happened and here we are today!

Rediscovering this awesome band and opening up this second album of theirs with one hell of a speed metal track is definitely something special. I regret not following this band more closely, but life do be like that lol. Enjoy today's pick of 80's style retro speed/heavy metal!

Modern German thrashers Dust Bolt released some Bay Area inspired retro thrash. Like a mix between Municipal Waste, modern Anthrax, and Death Angel - this band definitely has little in common with the Teutonic side, apart from being.. thrash.

Polish death/thrash favorite of mine recently released a short 9 min EP with three tracks and I had to share this slower-placed plodder with killer riffs, and a fantastic solo. Havent really been into their last couple of albums, but I'm still looking forward to what they release next.

Heavy metal band formed in 1998, from India! Opening their 5th album with a speed metal track. Main riff kinda reminds me of the chorus riff from Iron Maiden's Aces High song. Vocals are a little harsher than most heavy metal bands. RateYourMusic and Metal Archives don't seem to agree on what subgenre to place em in.

English is tough, but it can be understood through thorough thought, though.

I'm learning Swedish slowly, and I was raised in the US south, so I am constantly corrected on pronunciation lol.
