Feature Suggestion: Colours (lemmy.world)

I had a small UI/UX feature suggestion for Summit that I think could be helpful.

Currently, Summit already does a great job visually distinguishing roles:

Community Mods are shown in green
Instance Admin are shown in red

I was wondering if it would be possible to add a distinct colour for the Head Mod / Top Mod of a community.

For example:

Instance Admin: Red
Head Mod: Yellow
Other Mods: Green

Kind of like a stoplight system (red, yellow, green).

This would make it easier at a glance to tell who ultimately runs a community, especially in larger mod teams or when reading mod comments in threads.

Totally optional, but I think it could be a nice improvement.

I don't know if this is the right place to piggyback onto, but on a similar-ish note one small thing I miss from other apps is having pinned posts use a different font color. The little green pin icon is not super visible and I found having for example green font text for pinned posts helps me either find important posts in my feed, or quickly scroll past pinned posts in a community.

I don't think this is possible right now because I don't see a notion of a "head mod" at least not from the data returned in the API.

The head mod is the one who is first in the list of moderators in the API. Its the user who has been moderator the longest (or originally created the community). Mods earlier in the list can also take actions against other mods (eg remove them as mod). Those later in the list cannot take any actions against earlier/higher mods.

Yes its possible, in short the first mod in the list is the top mod. Same for instance admins by the way.

This still has the downside though that one additional fetch will be needed per community to determine who the head mod is. I personally don't think the additional network call is worth it for this information :/

To be clear, when browsing a community feed, that information is already there so it's easy. It's more for any of the feeds that contain more than one community.
