๐Ÿ‘Š TARIFF ๐Ÿ”ฅ

The GREATEST, most TREMENDOUS Python package that makes importing great again!

TARIFF is a fantastic tool that lets you impose import tariffs on Python packages. We're going to bring manufacturing BACK to your codebase by making foreign imports more EXPENSIVE!

We import pandas in hundreds of classes, but they never import us. I'll impose a 200% tariff on pandas imports until they start depending on us.

I should send a PR that applies the tariffs randomly and sometimes arbitrarily changes the numbers...

I might even make it so, that it calculates an import deficit by looking at how often your libraries are imported in the codebase of the projects, that the maintainers of your dependencies have vs. the number of imports your code has from them.

This is awesome!

If maintainers not comply with our demands, we are going to put tariffs on each function call

Unironically, this is a very cool tool as an import profiler.
