This post serves as notice that Lemmy.one will be shutting down in 90 days.

Unfortunately, the moderation features in Lemmy never progressed to the point required to continue maintaining this service, and Lemmy simply does not have the userbase to justify the cost of this service. Myself and the moderation team apologize for the inconvenience this will cause.

Not quite... The video covers this, as does our overview:

Using a VPN in cases where you're using your real-life or well-known identity online is unlikely to be useful. Doing so may trigger spam and fraud detection systems, such as if you were to log into your bank's website.

From the first two paragraphs of the article:

Silicon Valley could well be built on the principle of scrapping principles. Now Elon Musk, perhaps the ultimate tech bro, is shredding another well-regarded convention with an original business strategy.

Generally, in business, it is sensible to provide your customers with what they want. With Twitter, the meme-makers' favourite billionaire is doing the opposite. The cyber-trucker is trying his best to cull his customer base. Instead of finding gaps in the market, Musk is helping to create them.

We recommend just switching to Brave and disabling the 'crytpo crap' yourself rather than using a fork that is liable to go unmaintained and miss updates.

In September 2021, every active contributor unanimously agreed to move from PrivacyTools to work on another site: Privacy Guides. This decision was made because PrivacyTools’ founder and controller of the domain name had disappeared for an extended period of time and could not be contacted.

If you want to learn more about the move, please read our FAQ.
