Some communists were tabling at Dufferin TTC the other day next to the guy who runs the little market in front of the old people's home.
It's probable all areas of Toronto are swarming with comrades, especially given the hundreds of diaspora communities represented. But high rents got everyone having to put all their energies into work work work instead of getting together.

You basically can't look in any direction without seeing these things.
I do not like taking pictures of random people I don't know so you don't get a sense of how populated this area is. I missed taking photos of the most used #29 bus stops right in front of No Frills grocery store where dozens of people are crowding around til the bus comes. Virtually nothing has been torn down or picked off. Photos taken around 5pm; they were presumably put up at night and have been there all day. Many hundreds/thousands of people have gone by and nobody has touched them.
I kind of felt like even taking pictures I was being eyed up by people deciding if it was hostile or not. Which to be clear, is totally rad.
Everywhere I go in this city I see people wearing keffiyeh, and all sorts of stickers, posters, graffiti, flags in support of Palestine. It's no surprise given the internationalist character of Toronto.
To what extent it results in any tangible changes is not known to me.
The beer is good. Demos are on another level.
But there are the laws against wearing hijabs and turbans. . . . and all the other racism.
On YouTube calling CBC a monopoly. What an ass.
I now added quote marks to the title in case it wasn't clear that I am not saying this. Not certain if you or anybody was confused by that.
To tell the truth I didn't read the whole article. It was too annoying. I hate everyone involved too much. Thanks for putting in the work.
Living in a big house with several long term friends. I hope your dream comes true.
If you are in Ontario maybe you can get on co op housing lists for large units. In 20 years your names might come up.

i am not this kind of nerd, or the adjoining kind of nerd. but i like seeing some nerds in my neighbourhood. are they cool in a demented way, or something spooky?
my eyes glaze over when reading about these intrigues. are they the same group, the opposite group, or just another group of weird communists in toronto?
my first thought is: cool on them to put up posters. virtually nobody will bother to go to the website to find out how strange they are. it's chill to have stuff like that up in the neighbourhood so I appreciate that. to 99% of people it's just a pro-woman poster with no evident anti-trans dogwhistling.

Judging on the morning show which I hear while 10-60% awake, they are making improvements on this.
I honestly think there was some sort of staffing change that has led to a less steady stream of these asshats. It was weekly or more for a while there.
I only hear a story about how hard it is to evict "nightmare tenants" every few weeks now. Last one, a week or two ago, was complaining about how the Ford govt fired all the "expert adjudicators" and I guess how a Lib govt would bring em all back. I was too sleepy to determine why it was news.
