Just because you're in the same bracket it doesn't mean you end up paying the same overall percentage at the end of the day.

Like the other comments mentioned, there's a basic personal amount to be deducted from so they don't start taxing you the first dollar you make.

Also in those income levels you get more back in the form of Canada Workers Benefit, a refundable tax credit which alone is probably enough to put your tax balance in the negative. On top of that you get more GST/HST credit, and if you're in BC a $0 deductible with pharmacare.

That's a tough ask.

I'm just bouncing ideas off and not sure if it works like that, but maybe you can try creating a teen account and link it to your main one.

Recently I noticed there's an option to let me link teen accounts(and other adults) under a family that lets them order but pay with the primary account.

Assuming teens won't be able to buy alcohol, perhaps those recommendations would go away too?

When it was my birthday she bought me a slice of cake which was nice though and gave me a little note.

Sounds like a small gift + a card/note might be a good idea then.

I would suggest something simple like a coffee card, but if you want to be mindful of caffeine intake for pregnant women then maybe an alternative like a box of caffeine-free tea that's soothing and calming? Or perhaps aromatherapy in the same vein if she's not allergic to scents?

Moms with small children are stressful enough on a good day let alone going through rough times, something soothing can hopefully make her day more endurable.

Plus a get well card(or something appropriate for the event) with a short hand-written note can go a long way.

They should've upgraded it to the Logitech G F710

Fuck these clickbait/malicious title wording for insinuating something entirely different than what the article is about.

The tribunal ruled in favor of the claimant if anything. AC has to compensate 2 out of the 5 passengers on claim for the delays because AC failed to proof that the delays were outside of AC's controls.

The other 3 family members were denied because the claimant who paid for the ticket claimed it on their behalf; and since they're not the affected passengers themselves there's no standing.

The tribunal pretty much out right says the rest of the passengers can file their own claim for their delayed flights.

If it makes you feel better, to put things in perspective, the planned discharge of 22TBq per year is actually a lot lower than what other countries with normally operational nuclear power plants are already doing, including Korea.

I'm not an expert in this field either and perhaps there should be a bigger discussion/education to be had if we should all be dumping so much stuff in the ocean, but IMHO if it was deemed safe when Korea discharged 211TBq into the ocean in 2020, this shouldn't change your mind either.

Don't worry, old millennials like us are probably quite familiar with l33t speak

I'm no Lemmy scientist, but judging by how the post ended up at c/RedditMigration , I think we're very much at the oops stage

🤔 Just a little funny thing I noticed while aimlessly scrolling up and down thinking of prompts.

Let's just say... that ship has sailed.

Good call!

Did my part and searched them on my home instance and subbed to a few of them.

To the folks who are trying to do the same on their home instances, you can actually just paste the URL directly into the search field (eg. https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/c/switchpiracy) instead of doing the [email protected] syntax.

When you click search it may return no results or just a post or two, but just wait for about 10 seconds or so you'll see the community pop up. Like so.
