not from the notification panel, but from the actual video player on Android. on my Google pixel 7, I apparently have it switched off, but on my Google pixel 8 I cannot find the setting anywhere.

I use my phone in split screen most of the time, and the skip forward and back buttons clutter it up just enough that buttons overlap each other, and I don't need the buttons when double-tapping works just fine.

I guess it doesn't even have to be the fast forward or rewind buttons, I don't need all of the buttons down there, are there ways to remove specific ones?

i can find them when using a client like Boost for Lemmy, but i can't find them when I'm on hexbear.

yes I'm using the recommended version. yes I uninstalled Facebook before trying to install it through revanced manager

EDIT - figured it out. i have to tap on the numbers, it's not in the settings

up until a couple days ago, it always did. now it shows the entire video length. like, the video above is 21 minutes and 9 seconds long, and the numbers on the right hand side don't count down they just stay there.

did I toggle a setting by accident?

I've got a bunch of MKV files with embedded SRT subtitles. I have my subtitles settings to big and yellow, but these are all medium and white. Android

I'm trying to avoid clickbait, I remember back in the day there was an extension where there was a green and red bar under the thumbnail, showing you the upvote to downvote ratio before you clicked on the video. is there a setting in Revanced YouTube that'll do that?

for at least the last 5 years, every time I've added subtitles to a show or film in my Plex server, I've had to perform the Plex Dance to get the subtitles recognized. today, for the first time in 5 years, I dragged external SRT files into a folder in my Plex server, I hit "scan TV shows", and there were the external subtitles.

it's the little things.

on my Android phone, it's automatically set so that skipping forward is 30 seconds, and skipping backwards is 10. because reasons, it would be great if I could skip forward by 20-second intervals. is that something I can edit?

the only way I can find is to change subtitle size and color is to go back to the Plex settings, which stops the video from playing. Google Pixel 7, Android 15, Windows media server

first a quick question, if I switch over to jellyfin, is the same thing going to happen in four or five years? I'll be all settled into a nice ecosystem and then they'll just shit all over my face and I'll have to start over?

how did they manage to break it so thoroughly so quickly? the Plex server is less than 100 feet from my bedroom, but ever since the update, the lag and buffering has been so bad (even when I turn it down to 240p, when I used to be able to watch it original quality) and they've broken the download for later feature so that I have to manually go get the files I want off my server and on to my phone for that evening, and then watch them on my phone using VLC.

they claim they made these changes based on user requests. oh yeah? prove it. I want to see exactly how many people asked you to make it so you can't download an entire show at once. I want to see exactly how many people ask you to move the subtitle settings to a completely different menu from the subtitle toggle. I want to see how many people told you they wanted to learn a whole new layout for no apparent reason without the ability to change it back.

and I don't know what you did on the back end, but I don't think anybody asked you to make it buffer 10 times more than it used to. I don't think anybody asked you to make it so that it's harder to add things to playlists. I just flat out don't believe you that anybody asked you for this stuff. you can prove me wrong pretty easily, just show us the data

because I'm 100% certain you made these changes for somebody other than your users and I want to know who and why. the fact that I can no longer share my library with my mother is pretty telling as to who you're trying to please. let them know that the only reason I learned how to torrent in the first place was because something was inaccessible to me; do they really want me out here teaching retirees how to torrent their favorite shows? because if they can't share my library, they're going to have to build their own.
