i posted about passing on a job offer a few weeks ago. I didn't really pass on it, I accepted but told them that the work wasn't what i really wanted to do, and they decided to rescind the offer. same thing

jobs are so scarce, I definitely should have just said nothing and sign the contract. They would drop me any time they wanted, so I can leave any time I want too. i just couldn't commit to something i thought would make me miserable.

At the time I didn't think I could even tolerate the job. Got some space to think properly and I just don't think that's true any more. I can tolerate it fine. Work environment is fine, pay is fine, just the work wasnt what i wanted to focus on. These are all just tech white collar jobs anyways, what was i hesitating for. motherfucker

I've got some clarity now, i'll move on. sometimes i just hate myself

I just passed on a tech job offer. It's not a bad job and I would have been good at it, too, but its just not what I want to do.

will I regret this after my other applications fall through? Yeah. I would also regret it if I had to work 40 hours a week doing that job.

I know lots of people working jobs they hate, so what am I doing turning a good one down, right?

Man. I don't know. i followed my instinct on that one. My instinct is fallible as fuck

"It's better than that. It's actually a huge MIC grift."

I really really despise the way discourse around humanitarian aid is framed.

Israel's genocide isn't some natural disaster. They are actively bombing, actively killing civilians.

And yet the debate is somehow about whether scraps of aid should be let in to mitigate some of the immeasurable suffering in Gaza. And then Israel or the US and its vassals block it, and somehow this is all fine, this is just a normal diplomatic disagreement here.

All of that is burying the lede. Can Israel not stop genociding civilians? Apparently not. That's not an option. In fact, we'll give them some more weapons to continue the slaughter.

I saw some CBC coverage of the two released hostages, holy fuck it's slimy

The scene somewhere in Gaza, released by Hamas, cannot mask the cruelty they have suffered

As the Hamas fighters are shown giving the ladies tea and some biscuits.

In the background, Israeli fighters continue to bomb Palestinian churches, mosques, hospitals, schools, and homes. It seems that cruelty is masked extremely easily.

Is Piers Morgan uniquely awful or are they all like that? He invites on some bloke just to completely ignore and talk over them the whole time unless they're decisive enough to tell him to shut the fuck up.

This one is kind of sus with the bothsides stuff. It's better than every other liberal publication but that's a low bar.

Sometimes there's a real humdinger of a comment, like a real data-laughing that I'd like to reply to, but I find that it only shows up on lemmy.ml and not here. Is that expected behaviour?

marketable slop, oh well shrug-outta-hecks

A blue LED behind the green lenses actually gives a more interesting effect than a green LED, sincs it seems these lenses fluoresce subtly under the blue light.

I still have to paint, weather, finish the wiring, etc. which knowing me will take me a few weeks/decades lenin-pogger. Usually, I'd just attach this to a base and run all the wires along the base arm to hide them. Only recently I found out about powering the LEDs wirelessly, which sounds way cooler...
