I don’t know if their dyes are vegan but you could do worse than Uniqlo cotton and linen clothing. Their cotton in particular is of pretty decent quality.
Uniqlo doesn't seem to have tall sizing options for women. I've been digging through these lists https://tallfashionadventures.com/tall-shopping/
Unfortunately most of these shops look like amazon crap sold through petite bourgeoisie branding but some look promising. Biggest issue is many don't let you sort by materials.
I’m sorry, you’re entirely correct.
Uniqlo does have a shop by height option but for women it tops out at 5’9”. That’s very disappointing.
I grew out of Uniqlo a while back, too, but for width reasons rather than height ones. Was a sad day indeed. :c
Lots of Gudrun Sjoden tunic fit tops work really well as t-shirts or blouses for taller people! Lots of really fun patterns and designs too. New it's too expensive for me, but I have found two really nice shirts on e-bay for $20-40.
These are very cute and give off fun Scandinavian peasant vibes but unfortunately they dont have tall sizing options it seems, particularly for sleeves They do have measurements on their site I'll look and see what my friend needs. 120 bucks for a shirt is certainly a
moment, you can order a lot of these things custom instead of buying their cookie cutter sizes at this price.
Definitely. I got some stuff I liked for $20-30 on eBay. I'm not much of a new clothes person for financial reasons.
Yeah I try to find stuff like that but it pretty much never works out for tall women. Great if youre short tho
Thanks for putting this together! Those shoes are super cute, might have to figure out a way to justify then budget for a pair.
Anyone have tips for plastic free socks? Kinda tired of throwing plastic away a couple of times a year. Not particularly concerns about them slipping without elastic or anything.
Socks are borderline impossible to find without plastic honestly without something like wool. You can get pretty low plastic content socks though from places like sockdreams, like 10-15%.
I'm going to do more research on it though.
Aha! Found a place!
https://rawganique.com/collections/organic-socks/products/organic-cotton-socks-elastic-free
Womens clothing seems to be still too short so not good for tall people, but for plain androgynous 100% cotton socks this should work. Some of these things also have organic elastic (which uses natural rubber, not petro rubber). I'm quite sure the dyes they're using aren't petro dyes but to be 100% certain just go with the natural color. There are lots of amazon stores that advertise theyre 100% cotton but they are blatantly lying you can tell the sock tops contain elastic.
Thanks for digging into this so much, it's super appreciated.
If you end up buying them lmk how they are
I have returned with news. I bought 2 pairs of the fully cotton socks, worn them several times, and washed them once.
- a little rougher than I expected, but they're fine when you expect that
- before washing they were a little loose at the top but not so much they'd slip off your feet
- after washing (I made the mistake of machine washing, dried on a line though) they are much looser so far. These should definitely be hand washed.
- besides the looseness, it feels like they held up in the wash alright
- the site explicitly says to expect more wear and tear than socks with elastic, which seems about right. They'd probably hold up ok if worn in slippers and consistently hand washed.
I definitely liked them pre-washing, and would consider buying them again. They aren't for everyone though, they are definitely rougher and more stiff than whats commonly available.
If I remember I'll update this post a little down the line with more wear and tear thoughts.
theres a plasticfree comm now /c/plasticfree, thanks for the info tho!
Thanks for the tip!

Would it be possible to get this pinned? In general there is a sore need for alternative resources like this, its basically impossible to find anywhere even with good research skills.
Done!
