Pour a cosmopolitan for a night with Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte. Plus, it’s the finale of hit comedy Hacks. Here’s what to watch this evening

9pm, Sky ComedyFor all its flaws (desperate attempts to be “woke”, the annihilation of Miranda’s character), Sex and the City fans can’t help tuning in to this spin-off – and its third season may finally be getting into its Manolo-heeled stride. This might be hard to believe, what with Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Aidan (John Corbett) resolute on their nonsensical “let’s wait five years to be together” pact. But don’t worry, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) are rolling their eyes with us. Will they make her see sense? Anyway, there’s still plenty of sex, outfits that turn the streets of NYC into a catwalk, the husky tones of Seema (Sarita Choudhury) and even a naughty night with a nun. Hollie Richardson

He reconstructs a cockpit and an airport lounge, and even starts TV singing competition Wings of Voice. The blurred line between reality and construction creates something bizarre and uproariously funny. Strap in! Matthew Pearce

Horne’s endearingly eccentric comedy is music to most ears. Plus: the extraordinary secrets of bees. Here’s what to watch this evening

10pm, Channel 4The second series of Alex Horne’s comedy musical show remains a mildly puzzling affair. It’s undeniably slight and the self-conscious whimsy can grate a little. However, it slips down easily, mainly thanks to the music – which is deceptively complex and cleverly assembled. The result is also borderline creepy at times, particularly in this opener during an odd little song paying tribute to the ever-expanding Horne family. Phil Harrison

A timely look at the aftermath on both sides of the Atlantic, five years after it happened. Plus: it’s the halfway point in Race Across the World. Here’s what to watch this evening

9pm, BBC TwoA visceral, involving documentary recalling the global turmoil triggered by the murder of George Floyd in May 2020. It explores the events themselves, the protests and counter-protests that followed. But it manages a degree of intimacy, too, hearing from Khady Gueye, a Black woman who grew up in rural Gloucestershire who recalls the casually racialised discourse that was a constant backdrop to her childhood. Channel 5 revives the series with a luxury estate agent who becomes a northern market trader. Plus: one of the worst disasters in NHS history. Here’s what to watch this evening

9pm, Channel 5The first run of this reality show in the early 00s was underpinned by a sense that the participants were learning not just a new trade but a new outlook. There’s less emphasis on that aspect in this revival, but it’s fun anyway. We begin with Rex, a luxury estate agent from Surrey who is going to Bolton (“It’s a town up north somewhere” apparently) to become a market trader. Given his floppy hair, dainty shoes and adoption of the least convincing northern accent since Daphne in Frasier, he has his work cut out. Phil Harrison

Packham is engaging and empathetic, helping Suiki explain her dyslexia to her brothers, and making builder Lee the star of his own musical. Phil Harrison
