That's good, this should help us to read more, not restrict us.

Ooh, that reminds me I haven't marked my bingo card for Streams of Silver!

These days, it seems just finding writers that actually like the source material is big win. So many stories butchered.

(Haven't read or watched Murder bot series, just salty about some other ones)

Finished Streams of Silver by R. A. Salvatore. 2nd books in Icewind Dale Trilogy (sub series in Forgotten Realms series).

The book is a very quick and easy read. Took me about 2 and half months, but that's mostly because of my personal life, in normal situation, I guess I would've finished it in a week or so, maybe even less.

Thinking about starting the Witcher series by Andrzej Sapkowski, I read most of it a long time ago, but didn't finish the series, so thinking about reading it again, and completing it, but I don't have the books, so will start something else if I don't buy them today/tomorrow.

Yeah, it's a pretty neat device. Don't have any issue with it.

[-] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

Yeah, my kid loves them. I have only read first 3 or so though.

Sony PRS-350 😀

It's old, but I am not a big e-book reader. Will probably get a Kobo one once this dies.

Edit: Just read other comments and noticed that you are talking about software, not hardware. Sorry, don't read e-books on computer or mobile, unless it's a webnovel, in that case, simple browser or official app of the site.

[-] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago

How is the series? I liked the movie, and the books are on my list, but I have a very long list.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago

Diary of a Wimpy Kid is fun! We don't get many mentions of it here though.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago

Cool, going to add it to my list!

[-] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago

Offtopic, but any recommendations for a good sci-fi show? I want aliens, something akin to Falling Skies, Defiance, V. Something from last decade or so, have seen most of the classics.

Finished Amulet series by Kazu Kibushi.

Love the story and art-style. Highly recommended for fantasy fans, specially younger audience.

Read Changes by Jim Butcher, book 12 of The Dresden Files.

I was expecting some "changes" due to the name and how people talk about the book, but wow, they changed everything. From the first line of the book to the last, it was fully captivating.

Wanted to start the next book right away, but held myself back.

Read Aftermath, the novella after Changes, from Side Jobs , short-story collection in Dresden Files world. This was the last story in the book, so I have officially finished Side Jobs too.

Many side stories are from point of view of different characters, and this was also from another character's point of view. So it was interesting to see how they view the world and hear their inner monologue.

Looking forward to where the story goes from here.

Started Streams of Silver by R. A. Salvatore, 2nd novel in Icewind Dale series, which is a subseries of Forgotten Realms series (D&D world).

Just started it, haven't even completed chapter 1, so can't say much about it.

Finished Shadows of Self by Brandon Sanderson. Book 2 of second era of Mistborn.

It was interesting where the story is going. Character development and the world building is interesting. Not a big fan of how the book ended, but I guess this is how it had to be. Looking forward to the next book.

Finished Gangsta Granny by David Williams.

My kid got it from school library, and wanted me to read it too. It's mainly about how kids find old people boring and old people weren't always old, they lived a life before reaching this age. A fun middle-grade novel. Highly recommended (for kids).

Also read it's sequel Gangsta Granny Strikes Again

The first half felt a bit childish to me (that's not a negative, it is a children's book), but enjoyed the latter half, but mentioning any of that will be a spoiler for the first book. If you read the first book and like it, I would also highly recommend the sequel.

Reading Amulet series by Kazu Kibushi. It's a graphic novel series for middle-grade, and was highly recommended by Brandon Sanderson.

There are 9 books in total, I have been getting them one at a time but was waiting to collect all the books before starting it. So, finally got the whole set and started reading it. Have finished the first 5, and am currently reading the 6th one.

Highly recommended for fantasy fans, both young and old.

I have been a bit busy, and with not too much motivation to do much, so am still at the same place as last week.

Still reading Shadows of Self by Brandon Sanderson. Book 2 of second era of Mistborn.

I did read a bit more of it though, and it was interesting to see the antagonist and some of the other characters who appeared.

Have been pretty busy last couple of weeks, so still reading Shadows of Self by Brandon Sanderson. Book 2 of second era of Mistborn.

Also started Wandering Inn, have read a few chapters, and while interesting, I am not a big fan of the main character. Maybe I have read too many (web) novels that I can't understand when people don't act like typical isekai protagonist, but still...

The world building is interesting, want to know more about what's happening. Will probably try to read at least the first volume and then decide whether I want to continue or not.
