go on bluesky and nearly the entire trans community uses the word transsexual. not in a transmed way (the community, at least my bubble, was very anti-transmed), but rather a "much of my trans identity comes from body dysphoria" way. when I was experimenting with bsky it was definitely a culture shock lol. I ultimately ditched bsky for separate reasons though

don't worry, google also has a partnership with reddit! why doesn't reddit just have an open api like they used to? good question!

I think the reason people are mad is less about "google please follow the law" and more about "google please do the right thing"

it's both publicly-traded companies and VC-owned companies. any product that is required to constantly report their earnings and risk their company being dissolved if they don't increase profits year-to-year.

real signature of the roblox ceo

also the thing in the title is essentially a real quote. here's a bit more context if you want it:

Like, you can say, ‘Okay, we are exploiting, you know, child labor,’ right? Or, you can say: we are offering people anywhere in the world the capability to get a job, and even like an income.
So, I can be like 15 years old, in Indonesia, living in a slum, and then now, with just a laptop, I can create something, make money, and then sustain my life.”

While WEI is thankfully cancelled, it's not entirely cancelled... They're planning on making it available still in WebViews with the intention that websites can check if a malicious Android app is trying to do a phishing scheme.

Seems like such a niche "security" feature... what are they really trying to accomplish here? Something seems fishy to me
