What product or products are you forced to get from the big rip off supermarkets or elsewhere?

My kid brought this home from their school library today. Way out here in the desert southwest of the United States. I think it’s a neat piece of Aussie culture that I did not expect to find here.

My question is: does this book hold any particular cultural cachet for Australians, similar to like the Hungry Caterpillar book by Eric Carle or others?

We’re working on setting up the ability to spend money easily in Australia. We’re looking at Wise for transfers and starting to live in Aus. As we roll into collecting pay, are there any banks or credit unions that are recommended or actively discouraged from using?

I've always considered the Australian accent to be fairly homogeneous across regions, but certainly there isn't the extreme diversity that the UK and America have. How much diversity is there, and what are the various characteristics? How long would it take you to tell a Cockroach from a Cane Toad when you meet him in the street?

I'm applying for a working holiday visa and I'm planning on arriving the first week of September but I don't have a drivers license and, obviously, I cannot get one in Australia without citizenship - how hard would it be for me to get/work a job without a car? Given that I would most likely start with farm jobs, would it be possible to do so without having a license?

I'm asking because it would take approximately three or four more months for me to get one where I live

At the end of the month me and the family are travelling to the West coast for 3 weeks to see family. Mainly spending out time in Broome, but we've got a 4x4 some small (carefully prepared, cautious) trips into more rural areas.

Our cellular UK provider's rates for using phones is ruinously expensive, so I'm looking for advice on

1. Which cellular provider you would recommend to get a - presumably pre-paid SIM while we are out there. Main criteria are

2. Probably want about 4-8Gigs data, mainly calls within Australia with probably about 3 hours of calling back to the UK during this period on one phone.

3. Anyone know whether it is possible to get the SIMs before we travel in the UK? Or best to get them in Oz? and if the latter - best place to get them?

Sorry for the shopping list of questions. Any advice gratefully received.
