I mostly agree but changing the thumbnail side feels pretty basic and almost a fairness thing for lefty vs. righty.
Hmm, not really. Left and right positioning for thumbnails would be in any case an adaptation for LTR or RTL text. They respond to composition with the text block with the title and details of a post.
I know people are entitled to their own preferences, but we read left to right and top to bottom, so most design decisions will take that into account.
Edit: comment was double posted so I deleted the other one.
Thumbnail isn't part of the text. It doesn't matter that I read left to right. It's because I care more about the text. I may move to the next if the headline doesn't make me want to see the pic.
