It would have been cool to have a place where people could have actual discussions, but that's obviously not the goal here at all.

Youre free to be as left wing as you want in the comments, thats where the magic happens. If you want to discuss left wing stories, try pretty much every other political sub on lemmy. But if you want to discuss something a little different, heres the place to do it.
But the moment somebody posts a picture of a cat* wearing a nazi arm band, it gets deleted, despite quite a lot of cats* supporting/being complacent of nazis.
