yeah like the minimi and so on these things that can't take belts (this one looks like it can't unless you swap the whole upper?) give up a whole lot of ability to sustain fire compared to a belt-fed that can take a mag.
yeah this is lighter but this kind of thing is worse at being an assault rifle and way worse at being an lmg than what most militaries probably already have. of course this all begs the question of when you even want an lmg on foot these days with how much you'll just get owned by drones constantly.
it's not clear to me that you'd rather have an lmg there most of the time than a regular assault rifle or some sneaky boi suppressed thing like they've been giving to all the antiterrorism pigs. you don't breach with an LMG and sustained muzzle flash is probably a great way to get owned

Unironically suggesting the SKS as a usable rifle in the 21st Century when there are things like the AK and AR that cost only a bit more might result in a ban, it depends on how we feel.
Discussion of hunting is acceptable but please put "CW: hunting" in post titles. Debating the ethicality of hunting is also fine, but keep it civil and don't derail other people's threads.
maybe doctrine has changed but all these box mag "lmg"-things sure sound like they're too compromised to be good at the role.
As opposed to something like the SAW, you mean?
