maybe doctrine has changed but all these box mag "lmg"-things sure sound like they're too compromised to be good at the role.

yeah like the minimi and so on these things that can't take belts (this one looks like it can't unless you swap the whole upper?) give up a whole lot of ability to sustain fire compared to a belt-fed that can take a mag.

yeah this is lighter but this kind of thing is worse at being an assault rifle and way worse at being an lmg than what most militaries probably already have. of course this all begs the question of when you even want an lmg on foot these days with how much you'll just get owned by drones constantly.

it's not clear to me that you'd rather have an lmg there most of the time than a regular assault rifle or some sneaky boi suppressed thing like they've been giving to all the antiterrorism pigs. you don't breach with an LMG and sustained muzzle flash is probably a great way to get owned
