IMHO the mayor should have maintained decorm/professionalism.

Also IMHO the sov. cit. deserves every f-bomb he gets.

Nah, fuck them, respect is a two way street. The US breed at least offers no civility and will just use it against you, so why play the game at all?

My personal intent is to avoid letting them drag me down to their pathetic debased crude level.

There's also a real satisfying art to telling someone to "get fucked" without actually saying "get fucked".

Your request is denied with prejudice and has been reported as harassment to relevant authorities. Subsequent similar requests will also be considered harassment and reported to relevant authorities. Further dealings with yourself will be subject to elevated fraud and security oversight. Poor behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated.

It does take a little more effort, so, not playing the game sometimes is the only way to win ;-)
