Before Tickles, that was Lalafka. I think they were there when GB1 was still called The Quad.
Dun ba ang "the Quad"?! Ang pagkakaala-ala ko naman, "the Quad" has been turned to what is now called Glorietta.
But then again, sobrang bata ko pa nung nakapunta ako sa the Quad.
Upon a bit of research, I found this map showing where the Quad was back then:
Comparing that map to a present-day one, the Quad corresponds to present-day Glorietta 1. Also surprised to note that there was another department store that has been swallowed up by SM. And that apparently, open-air pala yung Glorietta Activity Center nun.
Probably right. That was more than a decade ago. I do remember Lalafka. My former neighbor owned the stall.
IIRC, there was a stage for performances. Unsure if that was in today's Greenbelt (more open space back then) or somewhere adjacent.
Ahh, di rin kasi ako familiar sa Tickles and Lalafka eh. Kaya lang talaga ako napa-comment is because palagi talaga akong naliligaw sa Glorietta area, tapos parang mali-mali naala-ala ko. Tapos ang point of reference ko lang is Glorietta Activity Center, and that "corridor" from MRT Ayala Avenue stn all the way to Greenbelt: SM, then Glorietta Activity Center, then Landmark, then tawid ng footbridge tapos babagsak ng Powerbooks Greenbelt 4(?).
Tapos from there, either left turn (further exploring the Greenbelt area) or right turn (go to the bus station sa may Makati Stock Exchange) ang gagawin ko. Kinda sad that I wasn't able to fully explore Greenbelt 1 though. It always seemed to be the odd-one-out for me, parang masyadong tahimik. Ang usually naman na pinupuntahan ko dun is yung National Bookstore nila dun, or yung sinehan nila dun.
