Read it, imo my tldr is start a tradition and roll with it.
Friendship is like any relationship. You need to put time and efforts into it. As people get older, it tends to be less organic and more efforts are needed.
I still have a lot of friends from high school that I see regularly, even if we live a few hours away, because we all make efforts to talk to each other and take the time to go on the road and see each other, even if the only thing we do is socialize.
