UK resident here, I’m currently with Virgin Media (1GB) but wondering if another provider might be a better fit. The main issue is, how can I figure this out without making the jump and regret moving? (Already had this happen once with Sky)

Gaming is the internet's main thing for me and my partner, average ping for us is around 20-30 when hardwired to the router. Although, Virgin Media isn't the poster child for stability; it throws in occasional spikes, hitting 60+ and it’s been doing it for a few years now, no matter how many engineers come over and fix it. Is there any way of knowing what kind of results I can get before making the jump?
