I want to building small network in my apartment. I don't have space to put rack in my apartment, so I just want stuff with small footprint. For now I would buy:

  • switch with PoE
  • WiFi-6E AP

and in the future:

  • monitoring camera in apartment
  • doorbell with camera

I thought about getting stuff from Ubiquiti, like:

  • Enterprise 8 PoE switch
  • Cloud Key G2 Plus
  • U6 Enterprise AP
  • and in future some cameras and their doorbell

Will cloud key allow me to manage AP and allow recording of video from cameras to HDD? Or is there something else on the market?

That's a lot of stuff if you want a small footprint. Why not just get a Deco or Eero mesh router so you have routing and Wifi in one small footprint, and then get some Ring cameras and doorbell?

If you really insist on going Ubiquiti, why not the Dream Router which will also give you most of this in a single package?

I use the Unifi doorbell/cameras rather than Ring because I value having the footage stored on my own server rather than having to trust a third party.
