I bought an Apple Watch and I can’t pair it with my phone because it’s asking for an account that is associated with somebody I no longer talk to. I’ve had multiple iPhones since I got the first phone that is associated with this persons account. Why Is it asking me for this account that has nothing to do with my current phone? Anybody know how to fix this?

My husbands grandma passed away recently and we were going to sell her Apple Watch. It was iCloud locked and the phone she used had already been wiped. I tried EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING. We bought her the watch 8 years ago so the receipt was long long gone. Nebraska furniture mart had no proof of purchase. AT&T didn’t have it either. It’s like the watch never existed. I contacted Apple 11 times. And each time they told me the same thing. We need proof of purchase. We tried to get into her iCloud but none of her security questions were correct. Like her birthday. Idk what grandma did but she didn’t want anyone in her iCloud or the watch. Apple wanted the death certificate and court note naming the executioner of her estate. Which would have costs us more than the series one Apple Watch.

Moral of the story. Apple would rather let you eat their own first born child and watch, than let you into an account that’s not yours. On the other side. Change all your account info when you’re old and Apple with protect your information with their life! ☠️🥲 We are now the proud owners of a 150$ paper weight.
