I’m looking for a fairly easy to setup and manage seamless WiFi setup for my house. I have 3 stories plus a detached garage which I have hardwired with cat6. Currently I have a tplink WiFi router and use the tether app. It’s easy enough especially when I need to turn off the internet to my kid’s devices.

I want to be able to power the access points with POE.

I’m running smart home devices and Poe cameras.

One option is tplink Omada eap610 which are on Amazon deals for $85 each. I then need a controller which is $98 and a Poe switch which I’m not really sure which one to get. I can get a tplink 8 port Poe+ for $99 but I see a lot of other brands 24port switches for around $100. This setup would be about $455.

Is this a decent way to go or should I be looking at something else? I don’t want anything with monthly fees and want to be able to upgrade.

What switches are ok to buy? I would like a switch with 24 ports but they all don’t need to be Poe.

What you priced out will work just fine. These are very good and the controller allows you to not have to subscribe to the cloud service. Any POE+ switch should work with these access points but if you don't actually need 24 ports I would just get the same brand version and centrally manage.
