Hello, I am looking to optimize my home network and need some recommendations for a new router.

My current setup was/is: ISP modem > NetdumaR2 > Nighthawk Mesh system.

The purpose of my setup goes like this, from my modem the only thing going in is my NetdumaR2 (with wifi disabled) for controlling QoS and traffic flow (works best for optimizing bufferbloat) The devices plugged straight into NetdumaR2 via ethernet is: My personal computer, at home office, and then the Nighthawk WiFi Mesh which connects all the rest of the devices.

My setup was working great until the NetdumaR2 kept losing internet connection constantly. This has happened in the past and while it was temporarily fixed I want a permanent solution, as it is happening a lot more frequently now. DumaOS works wonders when it actually functions. lol. All i am looking for is a good router to replace my NetdumaR2, hopefully one that won’t break the bank (preferably under $100) also i don’t mind to buy a used one, and that i can install something like OpenWrt on to be able to use Qos or SQM. I am a gamer and what i need is a stable connection with low ping and a minimal amount of lag spikes. Also my network speeds aren’t the greatest 35mbs down 2mbs up. Thanks for any input/help!

I'm looking for an excuse to get a Firewalla, but they are over $100. Worth a look though.
