I am curious how much is planted.
I read they found a shipwreck or something? Supposed to be Roman.
As I said I haven’t watched in years since it was becoming just a repeat of the proper episode.
As a kid I wanted to believe there was something to the story. Now I believe if there was anything. It’s long gone. Most likely there was nothing there
That's a pretty common accusation, at least one artifact from the early days of the show is known to be fake, and, surprise, surprise, they don't talk about that one any more:

But, it's worth noting that the sword wasn't discovered by the show, it was found by noted fraud J. Hutton Pulitzer (not his real name), and was actually exposed by the show as being a fake.
