apple devices are fashionable and android devices aren't. also android devices are often marketed towarss geeks. If I were on the marketing team for Android, I would suggest marketing Android devices as simple and user-friendly devices that do things better than Apple. And adding a more youthful and luxiorious designs wouldn't hurt either
