Why is it that some communities show a video/site preview and some don’t? Is it an instance setting? Image example of one where it’s not working as you would expect.

You appear to be using a 3rd party app to access lemmy.ca that I don't recognize. We can look at it if you let us know what you're using but to my knowledge no Lemmy app currently supports imbedded video. Lemmy's UI that you can access by going directly to Lemmy.ca that we run does not currently support video imbedding or previews.
Sorry to briefly go on a tangent away from the discussion, but I used to love your contributions on reddit, so it's very heartening to see you active on here. Makes it feel more like home 🤘
