Hey, we have 5 cars, let's buy a sixth one! Wow...
But also, I hate the "you need to buy a car so that I can use it" approach so f-ing much...
This is literally my family. My dad and sister also like to complain about how we're all fucked because of the environment.
It's crazy how people will claim to support a cause but refuse to put in any effort or change their lives in any way whatsoever to advance that cause.
Haha yeah she's just really used to me helping her, so not being able to ask me for help for something is throwing her off.
But I'm so much happier without the stupid money pit/death trap combo.
I have a newish electric car and I haven't had to do repairs on it once. Still a money pit though. It cost me 35k. I heavily considered getting a scooter myself when I was looking for a new car.
Ooh yeah for 35k I hope it stays working for a long while.
I had a 2012 nissan leaf. It was cheap, but it was falling apart and needed a lot of repairs when I ditched it.
Your scooter is definitely not safer than a car in a collision. Modern cars are overall very safe to travel in.
I mean if I hit a pedestrian at full speed of 15 mph, we'll both live probably. They'll be reasonably annoyed with me and bruised though.
If I hit a wall at cruising speed with my helmet, I'll probably live. I'll feel like trash, but i should be okay.
I do have to be mindful of the murder machine cars that'll use me as a speed bump though. But that's why I consider them death traps, they kill everything that weighs less than them.
Most escooter deaths are from cars, or misuse and alcohol.
Safer for the occupants, but not for those OUTSIDE the vehicle. Very important distinction.
