I'm no ideological paragon, but I don't even know if it's really possible to be meaningfully leftist if someone holds a "le bacon tastes delicious/slaughterhouse workers need jobs/nothing should have ever been born to begin with and nothing should ever be born again therefore animal cruelty and killing for treats is okay/don't tell me what to doooooooooo" battery of bullshit fuck-you-got-mine takes on this subject.
I think the only acceptable leftist reason is something like "affordable, healthy, accessible". I'm not saying it's true, but as an argument this is basically the only one which is logically sound. Everything else is gibberish.
