Some on the "left" (arguable, see later) have more of an issue with what they call "the west" than social and economic injustices, etc., and to the point they support anyone trying to challenge "the west" regardless of principles. This not only true to supporting Hamas, an Islamofascist terrorist organization, but also people like Putin, the Christofascist and very anti-left dictator of Russia, which is even more ironic when the person in question is LGBTQ+ or a PoC. Hell, I even saw these kind of people supporting Viktor Orbán, the Christofascist and very anti-left dictator of Hungary, who is hellbent on pressuring progressives to pull a "new-Labor" moment on social issues (reference to a supposed quote by Margaret Thatcher, in which she was proud in pressuring left-wing parties to the center on economic issues), just because he's honest about not being a free market absolutist, and makes the government to hold 10-24% shares some of his friends companies and calling it "taking back stuff".
