Yes, it’s very expensive. Definitely not needed, but it sure does look nice. Being able to dial in an exact temperature is nice. You can also play snake on it!
Personally, I think they are way over priced for what they do and just use a Bonavita kettle. But as a coffee roaster, please keep spending money on fancy gear and beans, it pays my rent.
I have the same one. Mainly got it for temp control for white tea and figured having per degree control was a huge plus. Plus it's so nice artistically
