I suppose it was just a matter of time for this to happen, once the Russian government started cracking down on domestic Internet use in Russia.
How is the world going to function with a 17m km2, 170m pop North Korea?
China is also cracking down on VPNs and in many western countries there political ambitions to do so, because "good people have nothing to hide" and "it is okay if we do the surveillance because we arent autocracies like Russia so you have nothing to fear, wink wink"
Of course, it's just that the Russian regime is going to black out all western sites that are not aligned with its propaganda and no reality other than the one fed by the government will be accessible by the people. This is 1984 shit.

Sure, I'm talking about the total isolation of the population from other countries. Complete Internet control and censorship seems to lead in that direction.
