Spoon's [almost definitely] fine. Foil can do it though, especially crinkled up like that.
The spoon can actually mess with the evenness of the heating even more than the foil. It won't be as dramatic about it though. Unless there's something flammable at the focal point, then it can get real dramatic.
Number of times my wife puts in a metal bowl scares me.
