Huh. Have I seen the second season? I remember a huge post-credits cliffhanger. I'm sad it's not continuing.
Nope you didn't miss anything if you watched all 24 episodes. It was just split into 12 episodes last fall and the 12 episodes we had in spring this year. Marketing called the spring run "season 2". Typically a Gundam series is about 50 episodes split 24-25 each season.
