I vote for lemurs/lemurians
I don't see the relation with lemmy
Am not the first to think this since there is a discontinued lemmy app called lemmur. Plus, lemurians feel less like it's a joke compared to lemmings.
Self-awareness is not "a joke".
I only knew lemmings from the cute creatures of the game of the same name. I meant speaking it out loud to refer to someone . Imagine a big horror youtuber using lemmy as a reference in his videos the same way they do for reddit. He's trying to set an oppressive feeling throughout the video but you hear him say : the lemming potatoinmyshoe said that the black mold OP was inhaling is extremely dangerous and could destroy his lungs.
You won't feel that way when Lemmy gets more famous. For example, let's say I create a new popular social media app called "Mikavrons". "Mikavronian" would feel like nonsens. Not to mention "Reddit" is also a funny name, like it's just "read it".
