Can we stop doing the -oids suffix please?

I'm honestly shocked it's still allowed considering more innocuous stuff is banned on here.
I was thinking of legitimate oids and found myself looking up celluloid and cellulose. Here's the medium for an art form that changed the world and its name still describes it as somewhat like something else. Then again, the something else is used in paper manufacturing and things written on paper have had impacts on human history as well, so the name actually became more apt when celluloid's utility in photography became apparent.
But I'd be OK with a ban on oid suffixes for people.
