After installing Mac OS sonoma for a few weeks my mac quickly ran out of storage. I did a scan using cleanmymac and found this huge folder in /Library/Application Support/com.apple.idleassetsd/Customer/:

I opened the folder and found it full of high-quality landscape videos, which is probably used for screen savers. Would anything go wrong if I delete everything in the folder and use the old screen saver?

Why are wallpapers over 40 GB? If I'm not using these wallpapers (I've been using use solar gradients since it came out) can I delete them (I have space to make a backup of them if I need to)?

Its those video screensavers that transition into wallpapers. I had no idea they were there if you did not use them. Maybe make a backup then delete and see if anything breaks.

I'll try that. Still I don't understand why is anyone willing to spend 40+ GB on their disks just to get a cool wallpaper/screen saver combo, I think a better design would be streaming the screen savers from apple's servers, it would be unavailable without an internet connection but it's better than wasting 40 GB on the disk
