Texas Governor Greg Abbott currently has two X (formerly Twitter) accounts with suspended status, while maintaining a third active official account.

@GovAbbott: This account, once used officially by Abbott’s office, is suspended for violating X rules, likely due to impersonation or lack of authorization.

@GregAbbott_TX: This is Abbott's current primary official account; however, specific historical tweets from this handle (e.g., from 2018 and 2020) are flagged as being from a suspended account in some contexts, though the handle itself appears active in recent records.

Active Status: Abbott’s most recent official activity is posted via @GregAbbott_TX, which remains the recognized handle for his governance communications.

Additionally, in the 2026 Texas gubernatorial election, Abbott conceded defeat to Democratic State Rep. Gina Hinojosa, ending his tenure as governor.
