I was wondering if I should get gloves to a) prevent my hands from stinking after handling fish, b) avoid hurting myself when descaling or cutting fish.

I see influencer chefs wear black nitrile gloves, and I was wondering if they're any good for this use case . Like, aesthetic aside, is this any useful or does this tear easily like latex gloves?

Googling seems to yield mixed results.

Thank you all in advanced

They aren’t cut proof by any means but they will help with the smell on your hands.

I highly recommend those chainmail gloves and cleaning them thoroughly (the wristband usually smell if not cleaned properly).

They’re not difficult to clean, but there’s a lot of surface area for gunk.

Sorry, I meant getting hurt from handling the raw fish itself (getting cut from sharp bones and scales, not knife).
