I don't know, maybe have an ounce of solidarity and don't engage with transphobia. It's that simple. Even saying you don't think its a relevant issue to the campaign is better.

If the moral obligation isn't enough motivation, maybe the studies that recently came out showing tranphobic attacks weren't even helping Republicans are. It's not just awful, but also a losing strategy.

Yeah ... best thing she could do is just not comment on the issue at all, ever. Just don't engage with the culture war bullshit at all. Any time she's asked, ignore the question and talk about economic issues or rule of law instead.

"Do you think trans athletes should be allowed in girl's sports?" --> "What I care about is making sure the American people can afford to buy groceries, making sure they're not getting unconstitutionally snatched off the street by masked federal agents."

That's how you can win from the 'left' while in a heavily right-leaning district.

this would realistically be as hated by the right as when democrats deflect questions about universal healthcare or the epstine files

No, it wouldn't because they also can't afford to live in this country. They're pumped full of culture war bullshit so they don't think about how badly the country is going. This is the correct way to handle culture war bullshit.

You think that banning trans athletes or policing their bodies is a human right? Dude, you're kinda twisted.

Oh, unless you meant that we should support our trans allies? Yeah, you don't do that by helping the opposition turn them into a wedge issue. You do that by supporting legislation that protects them and not using them as a human shield come election season.

Yeah, you don’t do that by helping the opposition turn them into a wedge issue. You do that by supporting legislation that protects them and not using them as a human shield come election season.

The Democrats are the ones that did this.

I think my comments were pretty clear. Democrats will throw any minority under the bus if they think it will help them win (it never does).

Maybe if you were in a different branch on this thread, this would make sense. Right now you just look lost and angry over nothing.

Yeah, I'm pretty angry that people are trying to convince minorities to vote their own rights away, it's pretty frustrating.

Left isn't about to win culture wars against religious fanatics.

Those with hate towards Trans people, Hindus, Muslims, Latinos or whichever group they dislike are not going to change because of what anyone from out-group says to them.

Only thing Left can successfully do is not let them pull you into mud wrestling whenever they feel like it. Focus on working class. Trans folks suffer from a high cost of living just the same.

I this instance, people who oppose MAGA. Even the republican leaning ones. Shitlibs and centrists. Everyone who is sick of their constant culture wars. Annoyed at their obsession with "woke mind virus" while they deny vaccination for actual viruses.

Republicans lie all the time to win. If she needs to lie then that's ok. We can judge her by her voting record after she wins and primary someone better in the next election.

That's just a lunatic way to go about voting in a democracy. Just vote for them and hope they're lying when they campaign?

The alternative is to vote for Trump (or by not voting you are voting for Trump). So you still loose trans rights AND EVERY OTHER RIGHT.

    It's not the primaries.

When Trump was running he talked about how he was a big supporter of Gays and Latinos and he won because people are stupid.

Here you have a Democrat doing the same thing to win and you are attacking her.

No, the winning strategy is to run on popular positions that help people, and make their lives better, and deliver on them. But Dems are too busy supporting Trump and the Republicans, while screwing over their voters to care about that.

    popular positions

Is it a popular position in that district?

So is ending foreign wars, taxing the rich, changing the economy to benefit the working class, affordable healthcare, and afforable housing. But I don't see the dems doing that.

Ending foreign wars is popular in both her district and nationally so she is going to promote ending foreign wars and this happens to line up with other Democrats.

In her particular district, the voters are all hopped up on anti trans rhetoric from their Maga news source. So she can lie and win the election or be noble and lose.

You want her to be noble and lose so that Trump stays in power.

No, she's going to talk about ending foreign wars when campaigning, but support them as soon as she gets into office, as is the Democratic way.

In her particular district, the voters are all hopped up on anti trans rhetoric from their Maga news source. So she can lie and win the election or be noble and lose.

No, she can tell the truth, or avoid the question. But she's not going to lose because of this. She's going to lose because the voters know that she won't deliver on what they want.

You want her to be noble and lose so that Trump stays in power.

I love how Libs have to keep telling me what I want, instead of addressing the points that I make. I want her to support equal rights for all, and deliver for the working class. Something that she, and Trump, are against.

If you are Maga, then yes. If you are Maga, you hear Trump say he supports gays but you know what he really stands for. Magas then used "Trump said he supports gays" when talking to centrists. But they knew what Trump stood for.

Ignoring the obvious point of my question for a lame attempt at a gotcha. Do they teach this at Lib 101? Do they think it actually works?

What did she say that's transphobic?

If she was afraid of trans... wouldn't she agree with trans to avoid conflict? Shouldn't she be fearful of their wrath?

    Kinda weird
